Robust ground cover with attractive berries - Cotoneaster 'Queen of Carpets'
Cotoneaster prostratus 'Queen of Carpets', also known as creeping medlar or carpet medlar, is an extremely robust and low-maintenance ground cover. It grows flat and forms a dense, carpet-like mat that reliably suppresses weeds. Numerous small, white flowers appear in May, which produce bright red berries in the fall and are therefore not only visually appealing, but also serve as a valuable food source for birds. The dense, green foliage remains attractive even in winter and provides year-round structure in the garden.
