It didn''t get the most beautiful name, but this urn plant can''t help the fact that some relatives let their leaves grow spherical - hollow inside like an urn, for example.
The Dischidia platyphylla, on the other hand, lets its leaves grow cup-shaped, so it should perhaps be called a cup plant.
With its curved leaves it catches fresh rainwater and collects it. In some cases, even the air roots of this epiphytic plant make use of these water reserves.
With a little luck, the Dischidia will also reward you with pretty pink flowers.
