Arab Jasmine - Jasminum sambac
Preferred for oriental jasmine water or jasmine tea In contrast to the well-known jasmine, this has thick, heart-shaped, leathery leaves that grow easily climbing. It is also much more robust and can flower all year round! It tolerates dryness, but no frost, but can be wintered cold. The flowers of this species are used for flavouring jasmine tea or jasmine water. They are slightly larger and have a more intense fragrance. In summer they can perfume entire greenhouses or conservatories.
Simply add a handful of cold sparkling water and cool for a few hours or overnight. Done! Enjoy this simple and delicious drink in the summer heat.
Alternatively, you can flavor green tea with the flowers of Jasminum sambac to prepare the famous Jasmin tea.
