Intensively flowering, hardy steppe sage - Salvia nemorosa 'Mainacht'
Salvia nemorosa 'Mainacht', also known as ornamental sage or steppe sage, is a hardy, perennial shrub that provides a breathtaking color contrast in the garden with its intense deep blue flower spikes from May to September. Its long flowering period and compact, upright growth make it a colorful addition to flower beds, rock gardens or natural gardens. It also attracts numerous bees and butterflies, helping to promote biodiversity.
Salvia 'Mainacht' is easy to care for and drought-tolerant. It prefers full sun locations and thrives best in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. To maximize the abundance of flowers, pruning is recommended after the first flowering, as this can stimulate a second flowering in late summer.
