A natural flycatcher for your garden pond. Enough of these planted around a natural garden pond will greatly reduce mosquito infestation.

The flies literally fall down the Sarracenia''s throat. The nectar scent emanating from the tubes attracts the insects to the entrance of the trap. Taking nectar from the smooth inside of the tube, they slide down into the trap and eventually drown in the digestive fluid. Several species go dormant during the winter months. The hose plants flower in early spring. Their flower has a particularly intense scent.

Because they are hardy down to about -15° C, they are suitable for outdoors - in the full-sun shore area of a pond or a bog bed.

Care
The tubular plants are marsh plants, which means they always like it damp. Always keep the pot moist and water only with rainwater.
Sunny to semi-shady window spots are suitable as a location.

If a plant wilts due to dryness, immerse the pot in water until no more air bubbles appear. Lay the plant horizontally for an hour. This often brings „resurrection„ or salvation of the plant.
