Colorful, hardy ground cover - Persicaria amplexicaulis
Persicaria amplexicaulis, also known as candle knotweed, is a robust, perennial shrub that impresses with its bright red flower spikes from July to the end of September. Its bushy, upright growth makes it a perfect choice for borders, natural gardens or as a ground cover. Thanks to its rapid growth, it reliably adds color to the garden every year.
Candle knotweed is hardy and resistant to adverse weather conditions. It thrives in sunny to semi-shady locations and prefers well-drained, moist to moderately dry soil. The plant is easy to care for and tolerates pruning, so it can easily be cut back after flowering to maintain its compact growth habit.
