Galanthus elwesii, the great snowdrop, is one of the very first flowers of the year and reliably heralds the end of winter. The graceful, pure white flowers hang slightly nodding on slender stems and are surrounded by fresh, blue-green foliage. Typical of Galanthus elwesii are the somewhat larger flowers and the distinctive green markings inside the flowers, which clearly distinguish them from the simple snowdrops.
Planted in groups, they form dense carpets of white flowers that create a natural, almost fairytale-like atmosphere under shrubs, in the lawn or at the edge of the pavement. The large snowdrop is ideal for near-natural gardens and, given the right conditions, will grow reliably – more flowers appear every year without you having to do much.
Delivered are 25 strong, premium quality bulbs with a diameter of 4–5 cm. This allows you to start a nice little snowdrop colony that will get bigger and bigger over the years.
