The Notocactus leninghausii, also known as the golden barrel, is a striking cactus species that stands out with its bright yellow spines and barrel-shaped plant body. This specimen grows as a tuff, i.e. a small group of closely spaced plants. The dense, golden-colored spines give the plant its characteristic name and make it a real eye-catcher. The Notocactus leninghausii can grow impressively large with optimal care and develops yellow, funnel-shaped flowers at the top of the columns in late spring or summer, which form a charming contrast to the golden spines.
